The diagram is showing two foot imprints with the same Foot Length but you will notice that the Arch Length is longer in imprint A and shorter on imprint B.
1) If the arch length is longer than the foot length as foot imprint A, you will need to follow the Arch Length to find a proper fit.
2) In reverse, if the arch length is shorter than the foot length, you need to follow the foot length.
3) In a standard foot, the Foot Length is same as the Arch Length.
4) You can determine the Foot Length in relationship to the Arch Length with the aid of a Brannocks Device. Most shoe stores in the USA will carry Brannock Measuring Device.
